The promise

What you'll actually be able to do.

By the end of this specialization, you know how to put creativity at the service of accompaniment, with no mystery and no ready-made recipe: you understand what blocks a person's creativity, and you lift those obstacles instead of working around them.

You lead a design process in support work, from reframing a problem to the emergence of options, then to putting them to the test. You make a situation and its avenues visible, through the map, the canvas, the metaphor or the sketch, so the person thinks with their eyes as much as with their words. You help prototype and test an option before deciding, through small reversible experiments that yield knowledge. You design and run a creative workshop, alone or in a group, and at every moment you know when to set the tools down and listen, and when a difficulty exceeds your frame and calls for referring elsewhere. One requirement runs from end to end: the visual and the prototype serve the person, they are never a gimmick, and a non-visual alternative always remains possible.

  • Understand what feeds creativity and lift its blocks, both technical and emotional.
  • Lead a design thinking process in support work, from the problem toward the avenues.
  • Explore through empathy and reframe a problem to pose it differently.
  • Bring options to the surface without judging them too soon, open wide then narrow down.
  • Make a situation and its ways out visible through the map, the canvas, the metaphor and the sketch.
  • Draw simply, with no artistic skill, and give up the visual when it gets in the way.
  • Help prototype and test an option through small reversible experiments before deciding.
  • Design and run a creative and design-coaching workshop, and connect the design stance with listening.
Prerequisites

What you need to start

Hold a diploma as an autonomous professional practitioner, Synodeo's Coach program, or an equivalent credential recognized at the positioning assessment, and show evidence of prior support-work experience. The Mindful presence specialization is a useful foundation, without being required. The positioning assessment checks these prerequisites before entry and may shorten your pathway.

The program

A path built step by step.

01

Understand creativity and the design process

Grasp what creativity really is, what feeds it and what blocks it, then how to lift those obstacles rather than work around them. Understand the principles of a design process applied to support work, from the problem toward the avenues and from the idea toward the trial. And situate what the visual brings, and what it demands.

02

Explore, bring to the surface and make visible

Reframe a problem to pose it differently, tracing back from the surface request to the real need. Bring options into being without judging them too soon, open then narrow down. Give a situation and its ways out to be seen through the map, the canvas, the metaphor or the sketch, so the person thinks with several hands.

03

Prototype, design and support

Help design small reversible experiments that yield a lesson, before deciding. Design and run a creative workshop, individual or collective. Then connect the design stance with listening and questioning, assess a support process, adapt your materials, and recognize what exceeds the frame in order to refer wisely.

What you work on, module by module.

One example of method and one case-study excerpt per module - taken directly from the program's courses.

01

Understand creativity and the design process

Drivers and brakes of creativityDesign thinking and transfer to coachingVisual thinking
Method in focus

Describe a block by its conditions rather than as a flaw in the person: distinguish a technical brake from an emotional one, and reopen a question the person has closed on themselves, without ever contradicting it head-on.

Case in focus

A freelance graphic designer, stuck for six months on a visual identity, arrives convinced she has overestimated herself, that she is "not creative." Rather than contradict her, the practitioner asks her to recount a work session in order, without her conclusion, and so reopens the question she had sealed with a verdict.

02

Explore, bring to the surface and make visible

Exploration and reframingIdeation and unblockingMaking visible
Method in focus

Trace back from the surface request to the real need through a series of patient questions, then clearly separate the two phases of ideation, defer judgment to open wide, before narrowing toward a usable result.

Case in focus

A practitioner comes back sure she has understood her clients, they "want fast results," and has already priced her offer. Going back over a real conversation, she realizes that "fast" was her word, not theirs, and that the real problem, beneath the request, was something else entirely.

03

Prototype, design and support

Prototype and testDesign and run a workshopAssess, adapt, connect
Method in focus

Treat the prototype as a question, not a commitment: look for the smallest reversible experiment that teaches what needs to be known, and set in advance the sign by which the answer will be recognized, so as not to reinterpret the experience after the fact.

Case in focus

A man who dreams of opening a grocery store swings between quitting all at once and no longer daring anything. The practitioner helps him design the smallest reversible experiment, lending a hand two Saturdays on a market stall, with, set in advance, the sign by which he will know whether the trade suits him.

Condensed, anonymized excerpts from the program's case studies - for teaching purposes, not transcripts of real sessions.

How it works

100% remote, at your own pace - never alone.

A fully remote, asynchronous program whose heart is experiential: design coaching is practiced here, not just read.

Online learning

Content available at any time: material on creativity and its blocks, on the design thinking process and on visual thinking, techniques of exploration, ideation, making visible and prototyping, and annotated case studies where you follow support cases unfolding in full, including the moments when you need to set the tools down, listen and refer elsewhere.

Personalized coaching

A Synodeo referent supports you over video throughout the program, to the tune of two hours included, alongside unlimited e-mail support. This is where your design attempts and your support cases are taken up aloud, with constant vigilance: keeping the visual and the prototype at the service of the person, never as a gimmick.

The black book

You document in it your design attempts and the support cases you conduct during the program, with the reflective analysis you draw from them: what you observed, what you decided, where you hesitated. The book feeds the coaching, the coaching helps you keep the book better. It's the matrix for your diploma.

Lived practice

No validation on paper alone: your diploma rests on design processes you have actually led, materials you have known how to make legible, experiments you have helped design, and support cases kept in the right register.

Assessment

Validated by your practice, not by an exam.

Continuous validation

Your design exercises, your first hands-on attempts and the support cases you conduct are followed and validated over the course of the program by your referent, with particular care given to the soundness of the process and the right use of the visual.

Final validation

Using your black book, you present a design-coaching support case you have conducted, or a workshop you have designed and run, with the reflective analysis you draw from it. Defended over video before a Synodeo referent in a thirty-minute defense, the oral focuses on the soundness of the process, the quality of the making-visible and the prototyping, and your ability to connect the stances and hold the boundary of your frame.

Diploma & certification

A proven diploma, solid recognition.

At the end of the program, Synodeo awards you the diploma of Facilitator in Creativity and Design coaching. It doesn't certify attendance: it validates competencies actually demonstrated in your black book, in the final deliverable and in the support cases conducted throughout the program.

This diploma rests on the school's certifying independence. Synodeo designs its own curricula and conducts the entire certification process independently, with no body external to the profession. This independence guarantees the consistency between the pedagogy deployed step by step and the validation of competencies at the end of the program.

The same rigor runs from the first case study to the final defense: support the person in their creation and their choices, make visible and prototype at their service, without ever producing in their place or pushing them toward performance.

Frequently asked questions

What people often ask us.

Do you need to know how to draw to take this specialization?
No, and that's essential. The visual thinking used here has nothing to do with virtuosity: you learn to draw simply, with shapes anyone can trace, because the line serves to clarify, to create distance and to make people think, not to impress. You also learn just as much to give up the visual when it gets in the way, and to offer a non-visual alternative to anyone who doesn't want it.
Is design thinking a five-step recipe you just run through?
No. We teach the design process, empathy, definition, ideation, prototyping, testing, but as an iterative stance, not as a mechanism. The point is precisely to avoid the recipe applied without discernment, to locate where the person actually is rather than have them recite phases, and to uphold the right to be wrong that makes this approach worthwhile. The process transposes to coaching, it isn't pasted onto it.
Aren't the visual and the prototype a bit of showmanship?
That's exactly the drift this program refuses. The visual and the prototype serve the person, they are neither a show nor a gimmick, and the practitioner learns to recognize the moment when the support gets in the way and to give it up. The Synodeo positioning is held from start to finish: support the person in their creation and their choices, not produce in their place or push them toward performance.
Do you already need to be supporting clients to enroll?
Yes. The specialization assumes a diploma as an autonomous professional practitioner, Synodeo's Coach program or an equivalent credential recognized at the positioning assessment, and prior support-work experience. The Mindful presence specialization is a useful foundation, without being required. The free diagnostic checks these prerequisites and may shorten your pathway.
