Synodeo designs its own curricula and awards its own diplomas, aimed at dual recognition with reference professional bodies depending on the program. This design independence ensures consistency between the pedagogy deployed step by step and the validation of competencies at the end of the program.
The founder
Synodeo was founded by Thibault Velez, who carries the project of a demanding, human, and independent school for the helping professions.
The project was born from a conviction: you don't become a helping professional by reciting knowledge, you become one by living it - accompanied yourself, confronted with real situations, until you're able to hold that role for someone else. This is what we call embodied knowledge, and it's what our diplomas validate.
Everything else flows from this conviction: a demanding school, because the diploma rests on real practice rather than an exam; human, because no one moves forward alone here; independent, because we design our own curricula, then aim them for external professional recognition depending on the program. From the first assessment to the final defense, this is the consistency the founder carries day to day.
Before Synodeo, Thibault spent more than ten years in the helping and training professions, as manager then instructional designer within specialized schools and companies - a decade understanding from the inside the challenges of knowledge transfer, learning, and professional transformation that he now finds in every Synodeo program.
This practice was paired with demanding continuing education: the work psychology program at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (activity clinic with Prof. Yves Clot, work psychodynamics with Dr. Christophe Dejours), professional coaching with Marie-Hélène Dini, psychosocial risk management, then hypnosis - trained at l'Arche by Kévin Finel, supervised by Lise Herpin-Giret, specialized in trauma-focused support (RITMO method) with Lili Ruggieri. In-depth personal analytical work then led him to become an integrative psychoanalyst, practicing member of the Société Française de Psychanalyse Intégrative (SFPI) and member of the Syndicat National des Praticiens en Psychothérapie relationnelle et psychanalyse (SNPPsy) - two ethical frameworks he remains bound by, in addition to regular supervision.
It is this plurality of practices - pedagogy, coaching, hypnosis, psychoanalysis - that fed Synodeo's founding conviction: a helping professional's legitimacy isn't declared, it's built through repeated confrontation with real situations, under supervision, within a maintained ethical framework. That is exactly what the school asks of each of its graduates.
How we design our programs
Every program starts from the real practice of the profession, not a theoretical curriculum. We build our own competency frameworks from what helping professionals actually do in the field.
The content is built on embodied case studies - real situations, with their hesitations and choices - rather than abstract lectures. And validation happens through practice: you document real client work in your black book, draw a reflective analysis from it, and defend that work before us.
Finally, every page we publish goes through demanding editorial review. We prefer content that's tighter, better written, and genuinely useful to your practice.
