What the IHA is
The International Hypnosis Association reviews and approves hypnosis and NLP courses against standards of content, ethics and competency assessment. It approves the course, not the trainer, and approval is free at every stage.
Our recognition
On 23 August 2026, the IHA approved both of our complete programmes — the Hypnosis programme and the ePNL programme — as IHA Approved Courses. The approval covers each programme as a whole, across the three levels Technician → Practitioner → Master Practitioner.
Once qualified, you may apply in your own right for your IHA certification: Certified Hypnotist or Certified Hypnotherapist for hypnosis, Certified Practitioner of NLP or Certified Master Practitioner of NLP for ePNL. The IHA logo attests to the approval of the course; in line with IHA rules, it does not appear on the Synodeo diploma itself. This is a sector recognition, not a State approval.

History & values
The International Hypnosis Association has existed since 2004, with roots going back to the 1960s (the Washington Hypnosis Association). It was built on one conviction: to offer internationally recognised certification that is rigorous yet accessible, without a financial barrier. It certifies hypnotherapists, hypnotists and NLP practitioners and master practitioners, united under a single code of ethics and conduct.
Why this recognition matters
IHA approval singles out a course whose content, assessment and ethics have been reviewed by a third party. In practice: our programmes appear in the public directory of IHA Approved Courses; graduates may apply for their individual IHA certification (Certified Hypnotist / Hypnotherapist; Certified Practitioner / Master Practitioner of NLP); the recognition is international and legible; and approval is free and cannot be bought — which guarantees its impartiality.
Demanding quality criteria
To be approved, a course must: give a rationale for what it teaches, cover all the standard subjects of the field (for instance inductions in hypnosis, anchoring in NLP), include an ethics section, and have a sound method for assessing graduate competency. The IHA approves the course — not the trainer — and its approval is free and unbiased.
